The approach and the commitments

The brand "Objective Carbon Zero" guarantees that the whole product process industry is commit on the evaluation and the reduction of the carbon emission.

The environmental commitment is written down in the DNA of the company. By inheritage and before the expansion of sustainable development Dumas bedding has always been active in the reduction of waste, reprocessing and recycling of its production process.

In 2009, Dumas bedding decided to realise its carbon calculation with ADEME method with the help of the company Pur Projet (www.purprojet.com).

This assessment reinforce the Dumas charter of 2002 by a reduction plan of Greenhouse Gas Emission (GHGs) and by the addition of 7 commitments:

1. To make up for the emissions of Greenhouse Gaz of our company

2. To inform you about the environment impact of our items and our activity

3. To favour natural raw material and natural products and/or stemming from recycled materials

4. Beeing energy efficient and to favour renewable energies

5. To reduce Greenhouse Gas Emission bound to  the transport of the products and persons

6. To reduce packaging and limit the waste

7. To encourage the protection of the forest and act for the reforestation of the deforested zones

In 2009, Dumas bedding has decided to compensate each year the emissions of its activity corresponding to 534 tons equivalent CO².

It represents the plantation of 1457 trees at the Acopagro cooperative in Alto Huayabamba in the province of San Martin, Amazonia, Peru.
